This mask is made of two layers of tightly woven 100% cotton. It also includes a nose wire and an opening on either side to insert an additional filter (filter not included). I am currently making these with elastic that goes around the head, as I find it provides the best and most comfortable fit. However I can switch to ear loops instead by request.

Mask Usage:
To increase the effectiveness of the mask, standard surgical masks can be inserted (surgical mask not included).  
 
The cotton mask can also be used on top of N95 masks to help increase the lifespan of the N95 filter (the cotton mask prevents the N95 from becoming contaminated - and, while it’s difficult to properly clean an N95 mask, the cotton mask is machine-washable).
 
A few notes about the usage of cloth masks:
A handmade reusable cloth mask is NOT a replacement for proper protective personal equipment (PPE) in high-risk or clinical settings.
 
Face masks are not a substitute for continuing to maintain physical/social distancing, proper hand hygiene, and avoiding face contact.
 
Community spread is best reduced by having everyone wear a face mask when in public. My mask protects you, your mask protects me.
